Just after I bought the
trike,
this guy wants to borrow it.
Starting to baja the
rear end.
Finished the baja cuts.
Installing disc brakes.
Decided to get rid of
the body. Not enough headroom.

later.

The shape of things to
come. Plywood is temporary floorboard.

flames.
All done (this week).
Update - 1 year later. New bars, foot controls moved
forward, and new and more headlights.
Close up of the mods. These are 26" bicycle bars. They
didn't hold up very long.

My new bars. I tweeked the first set and went with 1"
bars. Added some bags and a little shield, too.

I cleaned all the black paint off the front wheel and
painted it to match the rear wheels.

I forgot to show my led side marker lights.
This is the beginning of my new front end. I had this
bent and will build the rest to fit it.
These are the upper and lower trees. They are made
from 3" x 1/2" flatbar. the distance between the notches is determined
by
bolting the rear legs to the link.
Here we have the rear legs welded to the lower tree
and bolted to the upper tree.
These are the front legs. The rods for the springs
were
welded on later.
The front end assembled. I went through 3 sets of
lower springs before I found a pair stiff enough.
All painted and ready to go. I finally added a front
fender.
The latest picture with the new front end and the
trailer. I plan to paint the trailer wheels and the front wheel yellow.
LOOK!! These silly people put a trophy on my trike.
I started turning the springer into a shocker and it
turned into a total rebuild. The motor is now a 2 liter type IV.
It's been a while since I posted any new pics. I
finished the reconstruction of the front end and the rear cage.
This is a close up of my new leading link/shocker
front end. Has an excellent ride and can be turned with 2 fingers.
I replaced the fake tank with a
4 gallon tank. There is an electric valve under the rear seat to switch between tanks.
The new rear cage is 4-5 inches higher and 6 inches
further to the rear. Makes it easier for the passenger to get on and off.
The type 4 motor, Harley fishtails, and the taillights
I had powdercoated black.
When I replaced the tank, I had to move the master
cylinders. They are under the front seat now.
The headlights were for dunebuggies. They were
powdercoated also.
I had the bars and risers powdercoated.
My electrics were in the Goldwing tank. I made this
dash to mount the GPS and idiot lights.
This is similar to the pvc electrical box I used to
make the dash.
The latest (1/1/11) pics of my trike and teardrop.
I tweaked a set of bars to make them more comfortable. I cut off the grip ends and rotated them slightly to make them fit my hands better, removed about 2 inches of width, added a crossbar up high, and made a new dash to mount to the crossbar.
